I remember 7/11/06,that dreaded day of our lives!!!

Many in mumbai r mourning that dreaded day on 7/11/06(mm/dd/yy)when a few minutes changed the lives of some forever while the others shrugged off these activities and cheered on saying mumbai's spirit is gr8 and blah...blah.Frankly that some other's r the govt both the central and the state .Nothing has changed in mumbai after that incident ,absolutely nothing!!!we still travel the same way that we did prior to the accident .

for those of my visitors who dont know abt mumbai's rail system ,here r some of the facts abt it .Mumbai is a huge island city whose life line is the rail n/w which reduces the time of travel from one part of the city to other drastically .mumbai is divided into central railway, western railway and the harbour line .harbour line is a bit peaceful of all the three .

note : 1 means One bomb exploded at this location, but another one was found by police and defused.[3]ALL BOMBS TOOK OFF IN THE SUBURBS OF WESTERN RAILWAY!!!

the incident that i could relate was that of my uncle who frequents by the 18.35 fast local churchgate-virar .that day the train was as usual jam packed .people who r little financially well-off do the smart thing of travelling by first class .my uncle that day missed boarding the train in his usual ist class compartment towards the starting row of the train as it took him little more time to pay the auto fare so he ran and entered the first class at tthe back which usually has two first class compartments .luck as it was on his side, the people were welcomed with a loud sound the moment train entered borivali station and there was a huge black cloud that engulfed the air .immediately everyone jumped off the train and ran outwards towards the road while some had the audacity to go and try to rescue ppl without caring for their lives .i again say that it requires guts to do that and ppl did that .hats off to them!!!my uncle suffered temporary loss of auditory sense due to the sound .his fear was his wife who is paralysed and wondered all the way back amidst chaos that what would have happened to her if he had died in that terror attack .his thoughts then ran across to his daughter who travels in the same train at the same time while he was on his way back home .fortunately for him ,his prayers were answered as he returned home the door was opened by his daughter who greeted him with a smile and the two shared hug and confined themselves to their home that day . his daughter had returned back home early that day as she felt feverish and uneasy at work.

My dad who frequents by the central railway fortunately was safe for us and we were happy .but becoz of the scale of the distance in which the city is seperated it was rather difficult for us to share the feelings of my uncle .but the images that tv cameras left in us still sends a fear in my spine and i still look out for some abandoned bag in the compartment .

As for the govt, well they r not equipped at all to handle such crowd .i think they just cannot handle it .the reason is pretty fair as i see it,mumbai a city in maharashtra is surounded by gujarat, chattisgarh,UP,karnataka, andhra and goa .western railway plies to mostly border areas of gujarat .gujarati traders visit mumbai everyday and travel back home, bihari migrants constitute the labourers .when u have such states which is least among the oppurtunities provided for the ppl then they ought to migrate to mumbai coz it is one city which speaks the national language unlike chennai, vizag, bangalore .bangalore i understand is attracting heck of a lot crowds for IT and is faced with admin crisis like water shortage and traffic jams etc .the solution is to decongest cities big time!!!if the CM asks for quota on no.of migrants into the cities then he gets a whip as they would loose out on votes from such ppl .it is surely a problem issue for the centre but i wonder if they consider it as a problem???
